Summer Reading Program
Get Ready for Summer!
Summer Reading Starts June 15th 2018!
Summer reading is just around the corner! Let's move the needle on summer learning loss and get those kids excited to read all summer long.
This year our program runs from June 15th to August 19th and children have the opportunity to come into the library, sign up (as early as May!) and then, starting June 15th, track their reading to earn prizes! The first 150 children that sign up will also receive a reading timer to track their minutes as they read.
Summer Reading Kick-Off in the Park!
Friday, June 15th - 2pm to 5pm
Join us for our Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program Friday, June 15th from 2pm - 5pm. Pick up your first bookmark of the summer and start recording your minutes! There will be a rock climbing wall, ice cream and rock painting. You will also be able to find out your rock star name and get your picture taken at our rock star booth!
Children's Summer Reading Program

Teen Summer Reading Program
All children 6th grade and up will be placed in our Teen Reading Program.
Your Challenge? To read, read, read and log the number of hours you've read on your reading log.
This year we have assigned a point value for your hours, as well as for programs attended and folder activities completed. Every 25 points earns you a prize! Top point earners will receive a gift card!

Did you know?
Children and teens who participate in summer library programs benefit from engaging activities and opportunities which promote literacy development and help to counter the summer slide that often happens with the long summer break. Summer library programs for all ages enhance lifelong learning and provide meaningful, enjoyable experiences available to everyone in the community.
