Creative Writing and Poetry Workshop
1st - 5th grades
We are holding a creative writing and poetry workshop. Any child 1st through 5th grade may register to attend any or all of the dates of the workshop.  Come prepared to write and learn.  Each month with feature different writing exercises and a different poetry style.  Writings created in class can be submitted into our Writing Contest for April.

Art and Writing Contest
Deadline for Submission March 31st
All types of artwork will be accepted.  Sketches, paintings, sculptures, drawings, etc.
All types of writing will be accepted. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, mystery, picture book etc.  Must not exceed 5 pages. No graphic or inappropriate imaging.

Age Categories
Children 6 years and under
Children 6 - 11 years old
Teens 12-13 years old
Adults 18 and up

To submit your artwork or writing, come into the library, ask for a Art & Writing sign-up sheet, fill out both sides and hand in your piece by March 31st.  Artwork/writing pieces will be displayed and voted on all through April. 

Artist Reception Saturday, April 28th 11:30am - 12:30pm.
Every participant, along with their family and friends is invited to the Artist Reception where last minute voting will occur.  Winners will be announced at 12:15pm.  winners do not have to be present to win.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math are the foundations of learning. Come join us in our quest for learning with STEAM Saturdays!

Build a Waterslide Challenge
Spring is on its way, that means summer isn't far behind!  Come out on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00am - 12:00pm and build a Waterslide for a Lego man.  How tall will you make it?  How fast will your Lego man go?  Use your engineering skills to create a super Waterslide!

Build a CD Hovercraft
 Hovercrafts can travel by land and by water.  Come try your hand at creating your own Saturday, April 14th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. It is amazing what you can do with just a CD, a bottle top and a balloon.

Sidewalk Chalk Pendulum Painting
Join us out in our brick courtyard to make amazing chalk pendulum paintings Saturday, May 12th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Learn how to mix up your own chalk paint then place it in our pendulum and release the geometric art.

Lego Club
Join us every Gull Lake Schools' early release for our Lego Club.  Stop by and let the creativity flow in this fun, free building program! Legos provided! Join the fun from 2-4pm.
