| Description: | This month's book selection is Someone Knows My Name by Lawrence Hill. This well researched historical novel follows Aminita from her capture in Africa, to her enslavement in North America, her freedom in Nova Scotia and Sierra Leone and finally England where she helped with the growing abolitionist movement. Aminita helped compile and write The Book of Negroes which was a census of Africans living in North America. | |
